PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method capable of reducing fixing energy while securing both of image quality and reliability of a fixing roller with high level. SOLUTION: The image forming method comprises: a latent image forming process of forming an electrostatic latent image on a latent image retaining body; a developing process of developing the electrostatic latent image with a developer to form a toner image; a transfer process of transferring the toner image onto a medium to be recorded; and a fixing process of fixing the toner image by causing the medium to be recorded after the transfer process to pass through a nip part between a pressing roller and a fixing roller and by pressing the medium, wherein the toner is a toner prepared by aggregating and uniting resin particles having a core-shell structure in which the difference between Tg of a resin constituting the core and Tg of a resin constituting the shell is 20°C or more, the fixing roller is prepared by forming an elastic layer of which a rubber hardness (type A durometer hardness) is A20 to A60, with a thickness of 1 mm or less on the surface of a rigid roller, and the maximum fixing pressure in the fixing process is 1 to 50 MPa.
