PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify connection configuration and reduce facility cost while preventing a decrease of efficiency in data transmission, and to save electric power of the apparatus. SOLUTION: A communication apparatus includes a transmission means for transmitting signals to another apparatus connected through a network cable based on a clock signal and a reception means for receiving the signal transmitted from the another apparatus. The apparatus also includes a signal superposition means for frequency-modulating the clock signal based on the transmission signal to be transmitted to the another apparatus, wherein the transmission means performs signal transmission processing to the another apparatus based on the clock signal frequency-modulated with the signal superposition means. In addition, the reception means includes a signal extraction means for extracting the clock signal from the received reception signal, and also for frequency-demodulating the extracted clock signal, thereby extracting the transmission signal used for modulation of the clock signal.
