<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller with enforced protection of a motor generator. <P>SOLUTION: An inverter 14 includes multi-phase arms 15, 16, 17, and each of multi-phase arms includes an upper arm and a lower arm to perform on and off control of the current. The motor controller determines whether or not a short-circuit fault of the upper arm or the lower arm has occurred in one-phase of the multi-phase arms, and performs multi-phase simultaneous ON control, which controls the upper arm or the lower arm of the multi-phase arms in an ON state at the same time, based on the output of an one-phase short-circuit detecting means. The controller detects the short-circuit fault to cut off the current to be supplied to the inverter, separately from the one-phase short-circuit detecting means, when multi-phase simultaneous ON control by a multi-phase arm ON means is not performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
