PURPOSE: A display panel and a liquid crystal display apparatus having the same are provided to reduce width of a shield member and ensure high aperture ratio and high transmissivity of the apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A display panel comprises a gate line(121), data line(161), switching device, pixel electrode(180), and counter electrode(190). The gate line is formed on a first substrate by being extended to a first direction. The data line is crossed with the gate line and comprises at least one or more bent portion. The switching device contains a source electrode(163) extended from the data line and drain electrode(164) separated from the source electrode. The pixel electrode is connected to the drain electrode, and comprises plural pixel electrode branches(181).
