In a sliding water-tight door 1 for an opening provided with flanges 5 in a ship's bulkhead where the door rolls on wheels 10 at its lower edge and the upper end of the door is guided for its sideward movement by rail 11 parallel to the bulkhead, the door may be tilted outwards from the plane of the bulkhead sufficient to permit seal 8 to be lifted from the threshold and the rail 11 can be moved by carriage 12 to a parallel position outwards from the plane of the bulkhead. The wheels 10 are inclined at an angle towards the bulkhead when the door is closed. The door may also be used for garages or workshops. |
