A method of improving the rust inhibition of a lubricating oil by incorporating a solubility improver having an aniline point less than 10° C. A method of improving the rust inhibition of a lubricating oil by incorporating a solubility improver, a mixture of mono and diacid amine phosphate salts, and a alkenyl succinic compound into the lubricating oil.
