The invention comprises difluoraminated derivatives of alkoxy-substituted 2-nitrimino-imidazolidines and their preparation by reacting 4,5 - dialkoxy - 2 - nitriminoimidazolidines (which may be prepared as described in Specification 1,103,285) with difluoramine in an inert atmosphere in the presence of an acidic condensing agent. Examples describe the preparation of compounds of the formula <FORM:1123891/C2/1> where R is methyl or ethyl. Reaction is carried out under difluoramine reflux at about -23 DEG C. in the presence of strong sulphuric acid, with or without aqueous formaldehyde. The products are explosive and may be used in propellant compositions.
