PURPOSE: A system for the pollution diagnosis of an oxygen sensor for a vehicle and a method thereof using activity counter are provided to diagnose a short circuit due to assembly defective. CONSTITUTION: A method for the pollution diagnosis of an oxygen sensor for a vehicle comprises following steps. In vehicle completely produced, basic malfunction of opening/short circuit of an oxygen sensor is diagnosed according to ignition on(S102,S104). A diagnosis completion bit is set up after the diagnosis of the opening/short circuit(S106). According to the engine start on, the fixed activated counter is reduced one by one.
