<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device which stably exhibits excellent cutting performance with respect to a workpiece formed of a hard and brittle material, and uses an easy-to-design disk-shaped blade, and a cutting method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A disk-shaped substrate on the surface of which abrasive grains are fixed is used as the disk-shaped blade 1. Pressure sensitive adhesives 19a, 19b are applied on the surface contacting with flanges 2a, 2b of the disk-shaped blade 1, and release sheets 20a, 20b are stuck thereon. The pressure sensitive adhesives 19a, 19b applied on the disk-shaped blade 1 in approximately 30 μm thickness exhibit adhesive properties only when the pressure by the flanges 2a, 2b is applied. The coating thickness of the pressure sensitive adhesives 19a, 19b is preferably 5 μm or more and 100 μm or less. There is possibility of causing coating unevenness in the thickness of less than 5 μm, and there is possibility of generating vibration in the rotating axis direction to the disk-shaped blade 1 in the thickness of 100 μm or more.
