<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge dewatering apparatus which can perform stable dewatering treatment of sludge with a simple structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sludge dewatering apparatus comprises a sludge flocculation tank 1, a sludge thickener 2 which rotatably accommodates a spiral screw 12 in a filter cylinder 11, filters water contained in flocculated sludge introduced from the sludge flocculation tank 1 into the filter cylinder 11 to concentrate the sludge while conveying the flocculated sludge by rotating and driving the spiral screw 12, and discharges the concentrated sludge from the inside of the filter cylinder 11, and a press-in type screw press dehydrator 3 which dewaters the concentrated sludge supplied from the sludge thickener 2. In the sludge dewatering apparatus, the sludge thickener 2 and the screw press dehydrator 3 are connected by a sludge pipe 5 and not through a pump, and the concentrated sludge is pressed into the screw press dehydrator 3 from the sludge pipe 5 by a sludge feeding pressure by the spiral screw 12 of the sludge thickener 2.
