<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for an internal combustion engine, having less cooling performance degradation resulting from the mixture of gas into an engine cooling system. <P>SOLUTION: The cooling device includes a reservoir tank in which cooling water is reserved, wherein cooling water filled in the engine cooling system having a water jacket, a radiator, and a circulation passage for circulating the cooling water between the water jacket and the radiator is forcibly circulated through the drive of the water pump. The reservoir tank carries gas from the engine cooling system while carrying the reserved cooling water to the engine cooling system.
