<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for arranging an asymmetric support structure and related structures in a region inside a body. <P>SOLUTION: A multiple electrode support structure (20 (a)) includes an asymmetric geometry, either axially, radially or both. The asymmetric support structure is assembled from spline constituent elements (51, 58) extending between a distal hub (24) and a proximal base (26). The spline constituent elements (51, 58) are circumferentially spaced around the distal hub (24) in a radially asymmetric fashion, creating greater density of the spline constituent elements in one region of the structure than in another region. The spline constituent elements (51, 58) are preformed in an axially asymmetric fashion along their lengths, creating a different geometry in their distal regions than in their proximal regions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
