PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide users with capturing points at tourist sites or the like by using a smaller amount of data. SOLUTION: An image capturing unit 31 captures a subject, a position detection unit 39 detects a self position, a direction detection unit 41 detects a direction in which the subject to be taken faces during capturing of the subject, and a view angle detection unit 40 detects a view angle of an image to be taken. A recommended composition information obtaining unit 43 obtains recommended composition information including a recommended view angle and a recommended direction of the image to be taken at the position, based on the detected position. A view angle comparison unit 44 compares a detected view angle with the recommended view angle. A view angle control unit 36 adjusts the detected view angle in response to the results of comparison by the view angle comparison unit 44. A direction comparison unit 45 compares a detected direction with the recommended direction. A display control unit 33 provides information for instructing the change of a direction in which the subject to be taken faces during capturing of the subject in response to the results of the comparison by the direction comparison unit 45.
