<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control hot water sterilization temperature in an immersion bath to an optimum level and to effectively remove soil and dust attached to a konjac seed tuber. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Hot water taken in from a water suction port 3 by a circulation pump 5 is heated by a heater tank 20. The heating temperature of the hot water is set to a high level, taking consideration of thermal loss caused by immersion of the konjac seed tuber, etc., and the temperature control is switched after immersion to get the optimum temperature for hot water sterilization. When the hot water heated by the heater tank 20 is ejected from ejection ports 4 at both sides of a side wall 1a against opposite side wall 1b, returned jet flows S collided with the side wall 1b are joined at nearly the center of the immersion tank 1. The jet flow S is formed as a long flow path to precipitate the sand attached to the konjac seed tuber, and fine soil and dust are removed by a filter 7 and sucked through the suction port 3.
