Provided is a system comprised of an image pickup terminal device, an electronic map management server and a display terminal device, wherein the electronic map management server processes to connect a photographic image containing geographic information picked up by the image pickup terminal device with a map in accordance with an image pickup point and the display terminal device displays the photograph on the map. When picking up the photographic image, the image pickup terminal device adds information of the image pickup point and an image pickup direction to the photographic image, records such information-added photographic image, and transmits the same to the electronic map management server. In accordance with a retrieval condition designated by the display terminal device, the electronic map management server transmits the map image and the photographic image data related to the map to the display terminal device, and the display terminal device displays the map image combined with the photographic image. The photographic image is displayed in combination with the map image in accordance with information of the image pickup direction including an angle of elevation.
