PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate the turning on/off of screen display by controlling a display control part by detecting the light quantity of incident light from the outside. SOLUTION: When incident light from the outside is detected from a light detection part 1 through a window for detecting light, CPU part 2 repeats light detecting operation a prescribed number of times and when incident light is still detected, the display control part 3 is controlled to turn on screen display. When light from the part 1 is no longer detected, light detecting operation is repeated a prescribed number of times and when light is not detected yet, the display control part 3 is controlled to turn off screen display. Consequently when a user confirms, etc., the content of an incoming call and then makes such an action as disconnecting incident light from the outside such as housing the selective call receiver, etc., in his pocket, screen display is automatically distinguish by this operation, to reduce the power consumption of a display part 4. |
