PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejecting apparatus such as an inkjet printer which can carry out proper inspection of ejection. SOLUTION: (1) The inspection of ejection is repeated up to a predetermined number of times until the ejection of the liquid ejecting apparatus which ejects the liquid from nozzles is normally inspected. When the ejection is inspected normally, the liquid ejecting apparatus carries out the next predetermined action. If the ejection cannot be normally inspected even after the inspection is repeated to the predetermined number of times, the liquid ejecting apparatus carries out the next predetermined action storing abnormality information of the ejection inspection in a memory. (2) After the next predetermined action is carried out, the inspection is repeated up to the predetermined number of times until the ejection is inspected normally. If the ejection cannot be normally inspected even after the inspection is repeated to the predetermined number of times, the liquid ejecting apparatus checks the memory and decides it as an abnormality of the apparatus if the abnormality information is stored in the memory.
