<p>A cutting tool (10) includes an insert holder (12) and a cutting insert (14) releasably retained between upper (32) and lower (34) jaws of the insert holder. The lower jaw (34) is provided with forward and rear (44) projections. The forward pro-jection (40) has forward projection front (50") and back (52") abutment surfaces inclined, respectively, at first and second angles to a feed direction (F), the first angle being greater than the second angle. The cutting insert (14) has a cutting portion (64) adja-cent a longitudinally extending shaft portion (66) and a recess (70) in a lower insert surface (60). The recess (70) has front (74") and back (78") recess abutment surfaces inclined, respectively, at the first and second angles to a lower edge (76) of the shaft por-tion (66). The forward projection front abutment surface (50") abuts the front recess abutment surface (74"), and the forward pro-jection back abutment surface (52") abuts the back recess abutment surface (78").</p> |
