PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for constructing electromagnetic shield with high performance by applying seam welding from one surface of a metal sheet, which improves construction speed and does not cause smoking when joining the metal sheet to the inside of a room. SOLUTION: Stainless steel sheet 1 of 0.5 to 1.5 mm thick are stuck on the inside of a room and their joining parts 2 are covered with stainless steel strips 3 of 0.1 to 0.2 mm thick which are thinner than the stainless steel sheet stuck on the inside. While one or two roller electrodes 6 are rolled over the stainless steel strips overlapped on the stainless steel sheet stuck on the inside, electric current is intermittently conducted to perform intermittent seam welding for forming one or two weld lines per sides having about 1.0 mm in diameter and 1.0 to 2.0 mm in pitch. In this way, high performance electromagnetic shield applicable to a variety of structural shapes can be constructed without generation of harmful gas and in a short fabrication time. Furthermore, thickness of shield material required for seam welding can be half or less of the thickness necessary for traditional welding methods, which brings saving of material cost together with transportation cost.
