摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine improving injection control properties in devices including a first and a second valve member opening and closing mutually different injection holes and varying the number of opening and closing of the injection holes. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The fuel injection device includes a fuel injection valve 1 including the first valve member 30 and the second valve member 40 opening and closing the mutually different injection holes 14, 15, and drive means 5, 8, 90 driving the first valve member and the second valve member directly or indirectly in an injection hole closing direction and an opening direction in the fuel injection valve. The device can change over fuel injection between one side injection by driving one valve member 30 of the first valve member and the second valve member, and both side injection by driving both of the first valve member 30 and the second valve member 40. The device includes a magnet 72 provided at an end part 42 opposite to an injection hole side of the other valve member 40, and a detection means 70 arranged in a direction of movement of the magnet working with the other valve member and detecting magnetic flux change of the magnet.
