The invention relates to a strap whose length can be adjusted between two points of attachment of said strap and which comprises: a sheath (1); an elastic member (2) running along the inside of said sheath (1); two adhering surfaces (31, 32), one attached to an inside face (13) of the sheath (1) and the other to the elastic member (2), respectively; and a separator member (4) between said inside face (13) of the sheath (1) and said elastic member (2), said separator member (4) being movable inside said sheath (1) in order both to pass between the two adhering surfaces (31, 32) so that these adhere to each other only wholly or partly, and also to at least partly break the adhesion between the two adhering surfaces (31, 32) by sliding between said two adhering surfaces (31, 32).
