<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance operating efficiency during displacement controlled operation in a variable displacement compressor. <P>SOLUTION: The variable displacement compressor is equipped with a control pressure chamber 25 in which a compressing mechanism 20 to discharge the refrigerant upon sucking-in and compression, a rotary shaft 26 to drive the compressing mechanism 20, and a swash plate 28 with its angle to the rotary shaft 26 changeable are installed, wherein the angle of the swash plate 28 relative to the rotary shaft 26 is adjusted accompanying a pressure change in the chamber 25, the discharging capacity of the compressing mechanism 20 is arranged changeable, an auxiliary compressing mechanism 40 is provided to introduce a compressed fluid into the control pressure chamber 25, separately from the compressing mechanism 20, and the internal pressure of the chamber 25 is changed by the auxiliary compressing mechanism 40. In this manner, the discharging capacity of the compressing mechanism 20 is controlled without boosting the fluid introduced into the chamber 25 to the pressure level of the discharged fluid by changing the pressure of the chamber 25 using the auxiliary compressing mechanism 40 other than the compression mechanism 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
