PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel having less constraints in the manufacturing method and which is superior in shock-resistance strength. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The plasma display panel has a front glass substrate on which an electrode and a dielectric layer to cover the electrode are adhered inside. The dielectric layer is constructed of a lower layer part, made of a first glass in contact with the electrode and the front glass substrate and an upper layer part made of a second glass that is laminated on the lower layer part and has a compression residual stress, and thereby the tensile stress is made to stay in the front glass substrate.
