<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member for internal combustion engine, the strength, heat resistance or the like of which is prevented from degrading, while a sliding resistance is reduced by mixing self-lubricating resin in its base material employed for the sliding member for an internal combustion engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The self-lubricating resin 21 is mixed, at a higher volumetric rate as closer to a sliding surface 22 in the sliding member (a cylinder liner) 20 for internal combustion engine, which is provided in sliding portions of the internal combustion engine.
