PURPOSE: A lubricant supply system and method for an internal combustion engine are provided to control relatively low flow rate of cooling water using a three-way temperature control valve installed in the cooling water circulation line. CONSTITUTION: A lubricant supply system for an internal combustion engine comprises a main engine(100), a lubricant circulation line(110), a cooling water circulation line(130), a heat exchanger(120), and a three-way temperature control valve(160). The lubricant circulation line for supplying lubricant to the main engine is equipped with a temperature measurement unit(140) measuring the inlet temperature of lubricant. The heat exchanger is installed between the cooling water circulation line and the lubricant circulation line to implement heat-exchange between lubricant and cooling water. The three-way temperature control valve is installed in the cooling water circulation line and controls the flow rate of cooling water provided to the heat exchanger according to the measured temperature value of lubricant.
