<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such the problem that there is a risk that crosstalk between left-eye and right-eye images occurs due to the response speed of a liquid crystal device, and suc the problem that introduction of overdrive processing to improve the response speed of liquid crystal requires a number of frame memories to increase the cost, when displaying 3D video signals using the liquid crystal device like an HTPS or an LCOS. <P>SOLUTION: An image display apparatus includes: a frame rate converter that converts an input video signal to a doubled frame rate; a signal format converter that converts the pixel sequence of the video signal; a light source controller that controls turning-on/off of a light source to be used for image display; and a 3D glasses controller (8) that generates a control signal (c3) for shutters (64R and 64L) that switch transmission of light to the right and left eyes of 3D glasses (64). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
