<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission apparatus that achieves an optical transmission system having high flexibility while reducing the circuit scale, and to provide a light transmission system which is provided with the apparatus and flexibly compatible with. <P>SOLUTION: The optical transmission system 1 includes the optical transmission apparatus 10 which outputs a phase modulation optical signal PL based on the transmission data D, and a light receiving device 20 which receives the phase modulation optical signal PL and demodulates the transmission data D. The optical transmission apparatus 10 includes a phase modulation section 13 which performs phase modulation of the branch light L11 of vertical polarization based on the transmission data D, and a clock modulation section 14 which performs signal strength modulation of the branch light L12 of horizontal polarization based on a clock signal CK, and outputs a phase modulation optical signal PL by multiplexing the branch light subjected to phase modulation at the phase modulation section 13 and the branch light subjected to signal strength modulation at the clock modulation section 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
