<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a display panel capable of uniformly evacuating air inside a space of a display device, and having excellent display characteristics with less lighting unevenness and color unevenness. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The display panel 1 is manufactured by arranging a front face substrate 2 and a rear face substrate 9 in opposition with a barrier rib pinched in-between to form a space, joining both substrates with a sealing member 16 formed at an outer peripheral side part of at least one of the substrates, then evacuating air from a space between the substrates. An evacuation hole 52 fitted on at least one of the substrates and evacuating air is arranged at a corner part outside an image display region 15 of the display panel 1, and conductances of a short-side gas flow channel and a long-side gas flow channel, which are spaces between the image display region 15 and the sealing member 16 from the evacuation hole 52 to end parts LL, LS of opposite sides, respectively, are made to be equal.
