PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which maintains stable image density without causing lowering of production efficiency. SOLUTION: At least one of contrast potential, a density target value, and a toner supply amount when forming a first patch image, is corrected based on a result obtained by detecting density of the first and second patch images formed by different methods.
