PURPOSE: A communication terminal of dual mode and a communication method for the same are provided to realize selectively dual mode communications of a local area network mode and a mobile communications mode by changing a communications mode in a dual communications mode conversion part to a mobile communications mode. CONSTITUTION: A communications terminal comprises a mobile communications module(140), a short distance communications module(150), and a communications mode conversion part(130). The mobile communications module transmits and receive signal through the mobile radio communications network. The local area communications module transmits and receives the local area communications module and the adjacent signal. In the communications mode conversion part is one communications mode among the mobile communications mode using the mobile communications module and the local area network mode using the local area communications module, the communications mode is switched.
