PURPOSE: A cylinder block assembly and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent damage to the aluminium cylinder block because the upper bearing cap insert is integrated with the cylinder block. CONSTITUTION: A cylinder block assembly comprises an upper bearing cap insert(220) which is formed out of cast iron to contact with the upper circumference of a crank journal part, an aluminum cylinder block(200) which is integrally formed with the upper bearing cap insert, and a lower bearing cap(210) which is fastened by a bearing cap bolt(230) to the upper bearing cap insert and supports the lower circumference of the crank journal part.
