<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid lens element enhancing utilization efficiency of incident light, and a lighting system. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid lens element 1 includes: a body formed of a first substrate 4, a third substrate 3 and a second substrate 5 and having a liquid chamber 6 inside; a lens face formed at an interface of two liquids which are first liquid 12 and second liquid 13 of different refractive indexes held inside the liquid chamber 6, and electrically deformed to change the orientation of light emitted from a light emission surface; and a reflecting surface (a conductive layer 9) reflecting a part of light incident to a light incidence surface, toward an optical axis of the lens face. With this constitution, incident light to a region, other than the liquid chamber 6, of the liquid lens element 1 can be reflected by a first reflecting surface, and light incident to a region, other than the liquid chamber 6, of the incidence surface can be reflected in an optical axis direction without being intercepted by the body to attain efficient utilization of incident light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
