PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily register device configuration information of a disk sub-system. SOLUTION: This disk sub-system includes a hard disk unit 230 and a controller unit 220 including a slot group configured of a plurality of slots on which a substrate storing substrate type information is loaded and a control part. The disc sub-system includes steps of: deciding whether or not the substrate is loaded on the slot; storing substrate non-loading information in a slot number on which no substrate is loaded; storing substrate type information in a hard mounting state confirmation result table by acquiring substrate type information from the substrate of the slot on which the substrate is loaded; registering configuration information in a hard mounting state confirmation result table by repeating the step by counting up the slot numbers; and executing the diagnosis of the substrate loaded on the slot storing the substrate type information of the hard mounting state confirmation result table.
