<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component having a high refractive index and excellent transparency, workability, heat resistance, coloring resistance and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The optical component includes a thermoplastic resin having a recurring unit represented by general formula (1).
