<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the height of upper cover smaller than conventional ones, and to prevent a supporting part of a wheelchair from interfering with an upper cover during rotation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The wheelchair housing device for vehicle includes a fixed frame 12, a movable frame 15, a wheelchair supporting part, a rotation mechanism, and hanging means. The device elevates a wheelchair by use of the hanging means, receives it with the wheelchair supporting part, rotates the wheelchair supporting part to a horizontal position by use of the rotation mechanism, takes in the wheelchair, and then slides the movable frame 15 to a housing position, thus to house on the vehicle roof. The device also includes an upper cover 11u and a lifting mechanism 60. The lifting mechanism 60 lifts the upper cover 11u to the uppermost level when the movable frame 15 slides from the housing position to the service position, and lowers the upper cover 11u to the initial level when the movable frame 15 returns from the service position to the housing position.
