A knee airbag for a vehicle can, even if the knees of an occupant of the vehicle are located close to a knee airbag containing section, more appropriately restrain the knees in a frontal collision of the vehicle. In a frontal collision of a vehicle (18), a knee airbag (14) contained in a folded state inside a glove box door (22)(containing section) receives supply of gas and inflates and expands toward the knee (36K) of an occupant (36) sitting on a front passenger seat (12)(vehicle seat). In the above process, if the knees (36K) of the occupant (36) are located close to the glove box door (22), the gas inside the knee airbag (14) can be discharged outward from a vent hole (16). In this way, reaction force of the knee airbag (14) acting on the knees (36K) is reduced by appropriately discharging the gas from the inside of the knee airbag (14).
