<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "music selection method and apparatus" for presenting music which suits the taste of a user from among music data in a recording medium storing a lot of music. <P>SOLUTION: The music selection method includes: receiving music information recorded in a data recording medium; displaying the music information on a monitor; and displaying the music information like books in a bookshelf when a user selects arbitrary music. Music information such as the number of music pieces in an album, the number of times the music is selected, category of music, release year, sex of the singer, or the like is displayed by height, thickness, pattern, color, or gradation of the color of the books. A picture of a jacket is also displayed on the back cover as needed. When the user selects specific music, the picture of the jacket is displayed separately from the book in the bookshelf. The bookshelf displayed on the monitor has a part for presenting music preferred by user and a part for presenting music which is preferred but rarely selected, as recommended music, on the basis of data on the music selection taste of the user obtained separately. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
