<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new color developer which has sufficiently high color developing sensitivity, is extremely hard to cause discoloration even in such a state as in contact with a film or a synthetic leather for prolonged periods, and by which a thermosensitive recording material having excellent plasticizer resistance can be obtained, and also to provide the thermosensitive recording material using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The new color developer is phenolsulfonic acid ester represented by general formula (I) (wherein R is halogen, hydroxy, alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy, cyano, nitro, aryl or aralkyl; m pieces of R may be the same or different; Z is a di- to tetra-valent connecting group; m is an integer of 0 to 4; and n is an integer of 2 to 4). The thermosensitive recording material is made by making a thermosensitive color-developing layer contain phenolsulfonic acid ester (color developer) of formula (I) together with a colorless or light-colored basic leuco dye. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
