DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to easily change the frequency of a dimming signal by adjusting a multiple by using a look-up table even if the frequency of a vertical synchronizing signal is changed. CONSTITUTION: A timing controller of a display device includes a memory(41), a detection unit(43), a comparison unit(45), and an inverter synchronization unit(49). The frequency(BDS) of a dimming signal is saved in the memory. The detection unit receives the vertical synchronizing signal(Vsync) and a reference clock(OSC). The comparison unit receives a main clock(MCLK), the dimming signal frequency(BDS_freq), and the vertical synchronizing signal frequency(V_sync_freq). The inverter synchronization unit receives the main clock, the vertical synchronizing signal, a denominator value(V_div), and a numerator value(V_mul).
