<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight unit capable of increasing luminance, and to provide a liquid crystal display device using this backlight unit. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight unit includes a cover bottom on which a plurality of light source groups including a plurality of light sources are formed, and has a structure in which the light sources having comparatively high luminance are arranged in the light source groups located nearer the central portion of the cover bottom, and the light sources having comparatively low luminance are arranged in the light source groups located nearer the periphery portion of the cover bottom. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
