<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation-resistant resin composition that is useful as a sheath material for BWR (Boiling Water Reactor) and a sheath material for PWR (Pressurized Water Reactor), has excellent flame retardance, heat resistance, radiation resistance and water resistance and deals with a test by a reverse sequential method and a radiation-resistant cable. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The radiation-resistant resin composition includes a chlorine-containing polymer, a radiation resistance imparter to provide a polymer with radiation resistance, an amorphous inorganic material for capturing an ionic component generated in the polymer by radiation exposure and a reinforcing material that reinforces the mechanical strengths of the polymer and is in an amount equal to or smaller than the amount of the amorphous inorganic material.
