PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weight measuring apparatus which enables a user to lift up a comparatively heavy substance to be measured by human power without using a power winch, and measure the weight of the substance easily. SOLUTION: The weight measuring apparatus 10 includes a movable pulley block 13 having a plurality of movable pulleys 31, a fixed pulley block 12 having a plurality of fixed pulleys 21, a rope 15 hooked around the movable pulleys 31 and the pulleys 21, a tension detector 14 for detecting tension generated in the rope 15, and an indicator 45. The indicator 45 includes an arithmetic operation part 51 for calculating the weight of the substance to be measured 11 based on the value of the tension detected by the tension detector 14 while the substance 11 is hung down from the movable pulley block 13, a display part 54 for displaying the calculation results of the operation part 51, and an input part 55 for inputting the number of the movable pulleys 31 which the movable pulley block 13 has. The weight of the substance 11 is calculated based on the number of the movable pulleys 31 and the value of the tension detected by the tension detector 14. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
