The method involves fixedly connecting a pulse wheel with an axle of a vehicle, and attaching a sensor to sprockets of the pulse wheel to provide a pulse sequence depending on rotating speed of the axle. A temporal distance between impulses is measured with a timing device. The rotating speed of the axle is determined according to preset equation by using angle distance of the sprockets of the pulse wheel. The pulse sequence is converted into square signals. Time point of the impulses of the pulse sequence is registered with the timing device.
