PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a method for generating a user font thereof are provided to automatically generate a user font using a character that a user directly writes. CONSTITUTION: A display module(151) outputs a message which requests to input a character registered as a user font. A control unit(180) recognizes the inputted character. The control unit registers an image of the recognized character as a font. An output window displays a character that a user should input according to control of the control unit.
