PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably print a metallic color by making compatible both a special gloss texture and the granularity of a printing image.
SOLUTION: A computer 100 inputs image data and an index value (glossiness herein) related to the special gloss texture of a metallic region. The metallic region is printed after printing data are generated by halftoning or the like. In this case, if the inputted glossiness is not higher than B1max, printing is carried out by using only a low-concentration metallic ink S1 by an ink amount corresponding to the inputted glossiness. On the other hand, if the inputted glossiness is higher than B1max, printing is carried out by using the low-concentration metallic ink S1 and a high-concentration metallic ink S2. At this time, respective ink amounts to be used are determined to have the use amount of the low-concentration metallic ink S1 reduced and the use amount of the high-concentration metallic ink S2 increased as the inputted glossiness becomes larger.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
|
