摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is reduced in the alignment unevenness caused by the alignment of spacers for holding the spacing between a pair of substrates, and an electronic instrument equipped therewith. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is equipped with: liquid crystal layer held in between by a first substrate and a second substrate; spacers 5 which hold the spacing between a first substrate and a second substrate; and the alignment layer which is provided on the sides of the first substrates and the second substrate facing the liquid crystal layers and is subjected to a rubbing treatment in such a manner that a rubbing direction intersects with the boundary lines of pixels. A plurality of the spacers 5 are disposed in the first substrate or in the second substrate in such a manner that they are disposed at approximately equal spacing L1 viewed from the rubbing directions.
