<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle alternator which entirely encloses a permanent magnet and has a connection type magnet holder structure suitable for mass production. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A vehicle alternator 100 includes a rotor 1, having a pair of pole cores 12 and 14 in which a plurality of claw-like magnetic holes 123 and 143 are formed, respectively; a plurality of permanent magnets 15 arranged between the claw-like magnetic poles 123 and 143; and a magnet holder 40 for holding the plurality of permanent magnets 15. The alternator also includes a stator 2 arranged to face the rotor 1. The magnet holder 40 consists of a plurality of connection-type magnet holders 40A and 40B. Each of the plurality of connection type magnet holders 40A and 40B includes a plurality of housing parts 41a and 41b with the same orientation to house the permanent magnet 15, and connection plates 42a and 42b for connecting the plurality of housing parts 41a and 41b in a circumferential direction.
