The appliance (1) has a switch device comprising operation areas (8) for bearing fingers of a user. A semi-transparent indication symbol (3) is formed on each operation area. An inner side of an illumination component irradiates the operation areas. The indication symbol and reminder areas (14) of the operation areas are provided with lightproof function. Semi-transparent thin layers are printed on the indication symbol. The thin layers completely cover inner or outer surfaces of the operation areas. Lightproof thin layers are printed on the reminder areas.
