A network has a plurality of antennas 12 RF or optically coupled over the network to a plurality of base stations 14, configured to provide cellular transmission. At least a portion of the plurality of base stations are in a common location and at least a portion of the antennas 12 are geographically disbursed. A plurality of links 16 couple the plurality of antennas 12 and the plurality of base stations. At least one link 16 provides multiple transmission paths 18 between at least a portion of the base stations 14 with at least a portion of the antennas 12. The invention aims to reduce or minimalise Raleigh fade, to improve the uplink signal from the distributed network to the base station and to provide a distributed network that has a decrease in the uplink noise floor. |
