摘要 PURPOSE: A negative active material for a lithium ion battery is provided to improve charge/discharge capacity and efficiency of a lithium ion battery using lithium vanadium complex oxides as a negative active material. CONSTITUTION: A negative active material for a lithium ion battery comprises lithium vanadium composite oxides of a hexagonal system containing lithium and vanadium with oxidation number of +3.15 to +3.35. A method for preparing the negative active material comprises the steps of: dry mixing a raw material powder, wherein the raw material powder comprises vanadium oxides containing an average oxidation number of +3 to +4, vanadium oxides containing an average oxidation number of +4 to +5, and lithium source; and plasticizing the dry-mixed raw material powder in an inert atmosphere.
